અસલી ગુજરાતી સંગીત ની શુદ્ધતા થી સજ્જ સાજીન્દાઓ સાથે આવે છે, ગુજરાતી લોક સંગીત ના ટોચ ના કલાકારો એક સાથે ! Gujarati Samaj Windsor did a great service to the art of “Dayro” by hosting this program. The group presented the pure form of lok geets and two of the singers Damyanti Bardia from Mumbai and Abhaysinh Rathod from Bharuch were leading exponents of Gujarati “Lok geet” folk song in it’s pure and original form.
As stated by an event attendee … “The “Dayro” was par exelence and took back us to the 1970s, memories of garbas in Baroda when they were sung in original version without the modern day corrupted versions with pop music and bollywood tunes started by Babla & group by late 1970s and early 1980s. Abhaysinh Rathod remided us about the kathiawari gadhvi style singing and Damyantiben’s singing was too good. The young tabla & violin players were also too good and so was Biharilal Gadhvi’s singing “like father like son” son of Hemu Gadhvai. Jitubhai’s manjira playing was just amazing that you can only see in the villages of Rajasthan or Saurashtra. His ribtickling jokes were also so good !”
