Charles Dickens published Christmas Carol. Christmas Carol had everything very traditional but very uncommon and religious, very festive and family oriented for cold nights of English winter. It is said that Charles Dickens described Christmas as “White Christmas”. The first 8 years of Charles’s Christmas day were “white” in deed. Charles Dickens’s popular description of Christmas, the festive mood and the traditions became the blue print for modern day Christmas and an inspiration for generations to come.

The Christmas tree originated in Germany and was brought to England with Georgian rulers but was not accepted as popular tradition until almost 1846 when the picture of popular queen Victoria and her German prince Albert and their children standing near a Christmas tree was first published.  The tradition of Christmas tree is credited to Prince Albert.
